Baamini is a well-known Tamil font frequently employed in typing Tamil language in electronic documents, web pages and other applications. Baamini which was created by T. Karthikeyan at the beginning of the
1990s became an instant hit because of its simplicity, legibility, and compatibility with many software programs. It was developed specifically to cater for the unique typographical needs of Tamil – a language that boasts long history and many users predominantly in the Tamil-speaking regions of Tamil Nadu (India) and elsewhere.
